We'll start by saying, once you've gone through the process once, you'll be a pro. However, for a first time user of our routes, it requires a few steps to get the most out of the apps and navigation features available to you as a City Cycling Guide subscriber! So here we go...

Step 2: Follow the instructions in the "Welcome" email you receive from us. Tip: check your spam / junk mail.

Step 3: This email will provide a link to "Join" City Cycling Guide's Ride with GPS membership. Ride with GPS is a separate platform we use to create and share our bike routes. By "Joining" (no cost to you), you will gain access to our member-only routes and unlock the audio navigation features available through Ride with GPS (these features would otherwise only be available to paying subscribers of Ride with GPS, so this is a great deal!).

Step 4: As part of this process, you will need to sign up for a Ride with GPS account and then download the mobile app to your phone. Tip: make sure to allow notifications in your Ride with GPS app so you can send routes to your phone from our website (or computer).

Step 5: Adjust your settings in the Ride with GPS app. Check out our other Blog Post with more detail on this. For instance, you'll want to make sure your volume is at the right level to hear the audio cues. You'll also want to turn on the Points of Interest if they aren't showing in your app so you can see all the possible places to stop along the way.

Step 6: Head back to City Cycling Guide's route pages to find your route. Review the safety tips and education tips, as well as the cool places to stop and see along the way.

Step 7: Click "Send to Device" on the route map. This will automatically send the route to your phone (remember to allow notifications in your Ride with GPS app). From here, you can pull up the route in your app and get ready to roll!

Step 8: Locate the starting point for the route and then click "Navigate" from your app. This will begin the ride providing turn-by-turn audio cues along the way.

Have fun and help us out by reviewing the route in Ride with GPS once complete. If you encounter any issues during this process, or would like to share your feedback about the route with us directly, please feel free to reach out.
