Your Bike Guide to Treefort Music Fest 2026

  • 5 min read

The wait is over...it's time for Boise's Treefort Music Fest 2026 (TMF)! If you’ve ever attended TMF, you know the vibe: world-class music, unlimited activities and experiences, and a completely transformed downtown for five days. You also know that the inevitable hunt for parking (not to mention the cost) and the festival traffic is not the most enjoyable part of the experience.

Enter Bikefort.

In Boise, the bicycle isn't just a way to get around; it’s perhaps the best way of getting to and around TMF (excluding the Treeline shuttle, which is a not-to-be-missed experience). If you're looking for flexibility and a fast, low-cost pass to the fun, consider rolling by bike and immersing yourself in the energy of the streets. Here are a few tips to experience the best of Treefort by bike.

Bike Parking

First, let's talk about bike parking. The last thing you want is to miss your favorite band because you're searching for a place to park your bike. While there are venues and experiences to be had throughout downtown, Julia Davis Park serves as the festival’s main hub. This is also where you can find dedicated bike parking corrals (locations noted with red arrows on the map below). Make sure to bring a quality bike lock and get there early as these racks can fill up (see image from TMF 2025).

If you'd prefer to lock your bike to a dedicated bike rack near other venues, you can find bike racks throughout downtown in front of local businesses. A few of our preferred spots are the former blue bike share stations (larger quantity of racks), which can be found downtown at various locations including:

  • In front of City Hall Plaza on Capitol Boulevard (good for access to downtown venues)

  • In front of Trader Joe's parking lot on Broad Street west of 6th Street (easy access to Boise Brewing and Treefort Music Hall)

  • Grove Plaza, just north of Front Street (good for access to BODO, the Cyclops Stage and other downtown venues)

  • On Broad Street across from JUMP (east of 9th Street)

  • In front of Treefort Music Hall

  • Along 8th Street in BODO

Some of the venues also have good bike parking options, such as Payette Brewery.

No bike, no problem. Try Lime

As in previous years, Lime will have a major presence at Treefort. If you don't have a bike or want to avoid leaving your bike behind, consider grabbing a Lime e-bike or e-scooter. To find the nearest Lime device, open the Lime app and check the map! When arriving at the festival, look for the Lime Parking Corral at the main entrance to Julia Davis Park (also noted on the map above). This is a great place to drop your device and grab another when you're ready to head out.

If you're riding to a another venue, make sure to park your device out of the way of the pedestrian path of travel (off to the side of the sidewalk). Look for designated "micromobility parking corrals" noted with decals on the sidewalks downtown (see image above), or check this map for the specific locations.

While Lime is a great way of getting around the festival, just remember to slow your roll and ride with respect for other people enjoying downtown Boise!

Navigating Downtown Boise by Bike

Boise has made incredible strides in bicycling infrastructure, and Treefort is the perfect time to see those improvements in action. There are several protected or low-stress bikeways to help you navigate to and through downtown during Treefort and beyond. Treefort's festival map has included the dedicated bike routes in downtown, shown with the grey dotted lines on the map below.

The dedicated bikeway corridors highlighted on this map and what we recommend are:

  • Traveling North and South: Use the dedicated routes on Capitol Boulevard, 8th Street, and 11th Street. 10th Street has painted bike lanes and is another good option for accessing some of the venues.

  • Traveling East and West: The Boise River Greenbelt is the best option for traversing the city, but if you're traveling through downtown, Grove Street, and Bannock Street are your best options. Broad Street and River Street are also options depending on where you're going. Avoid biking on Front and Myrtle Streets, which are high traffic, multi-lane state highways without any bicycle infrastructure.

Pedal to the Pass Kickoff: March 24, 4 p.m.

A great way to experience some of Boise's best bike routes before the start of Treefort is at Pedal to the Pass! Hosted by CCDC, this inaugural community bike parade will showcase a great bike route through downtown and end at early pass pickup in Julia Davis Park. Beginning at Cherie Buckner-Webb Park, this ride will be led by Boise Mayor Lauren McLean, Boise City Council President Meredith Stead, and brings together key partners including Treefort Music Fest, Boise Bicycle Project, the City of Boise, Lime, and City Cycling Guide! The event is free and open to all ages and abilities!

Safety & Etiquette: Ride Smart, Stay Bright

Festival riding requires a slightly different mindset. The streets are packed with people who might be more focused on the lineup than the bike lane.

  • Glow Up: The music goes late, and Boise’s spring nights can be dark. Bright, rechargeable front and rear lights are essential. And why not add more sparkle to your Treefort attire? Bring reflective and high visibility attire so you can be seen when traveling home at night.

  • Crowd Etiquette: When you’re riding through high-pedestrian zones like 8th Street or The Grove (or on busy sidewalks), slow your roll or dismount: pedestrians have the right of way. Use a bell or a friendly "on your left" to let people know you’re there.

Essential Gear for the Fest

To be a pro "Bikeforter," you need a few staples:

  • The "Stuff" Solution: A small pannier, basket, or comfortable backpack is essential for stashing your extra layers (Boise spring weather is unpredictable!) and any merch you pick up along the way.

  • Power Up: Between the Treefort App and your bike lights, your batteries will take a hit. Carry a small portable charger to stay connected and to ride bright when heading home.

  • A Bike Lock: If you're bringing your own bike, don't forget a quality bike lock.

  • Bike Helmet: Protect your head!

  • Layers + Visible Attire: The weather is looking great, but will be cool at night. Bring extra layers and visible, reflective attire to keep you comfortable and bright in the late hours.

  • The City Cycling Passport: Don't forget to flash your City Cycling Passport at participating businesses! Many of our partner businesses—like Flying M, Bittercreek, the STILL, Lost Grove Brewing, and Broadcast Coffee—are right in the middle of the festival and offer great one-time deals for City Cycling Passport holders. Don't have one? No problem - purchase one today!

Ready to Roll?

Treefort is about connection—to music, to art, and to each other. There is no better way to feel that connection than by riding through the heart of it all. Want more information or a custom bike route for your group?
